Ubuntu with Logitech V400

If you have a nice old wireless mouse Logitech v400 and use it with Linux, and plug-it directly, sometime make your X become unstable (but not in Indiana and Nevada b78), so this guidance I hope can help you.

1. Issue sudo apt-get install logitech-applet

2. Issue sudo apt-get install mdetect

3. Modify xorg.conf

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "V400"
Driver "evdev"
Option "Name" "Logitech USB Receiver"
Option "HWHEELRelativeAxisButtons" "7 6"
Option "Dev Phys" "usb-0000:00:1d.0-1/input0"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
EndSection
...
Section "ServerLayout"
...
InputDevice "V400"
...
EndSection

Hope you can get better with this configuration 🙂
